Cleveland Kids: How a 5-Minute Personality Photo Session Captures Their True Self

Lipnick • October 21, 2025

Why most kids’ photo sessions miss the mark

Long sessions, stiff poses, forced smiles — sound familiar? Kids aren’t built to sit still and “smile nicely” for twenty minutes. Traditional portraits can look polished, but they rarely show the spark that makes your child unique — the look they give when they’re being silly or curious or just completely themselves. That’s what these sessions are all about.

Quick, fun, and stress-free

When a session is only five minutes long, it's just enough time to capture genuine expressions without pushing past your child’s attention span. Experienced photographers really can capture a lot in what seems like a short amount of time.

Low key is the secret– I keep things light, let them move a bit, and talk to them like a real person. No pressure, no cheesy prompts. Most kids walk away saying, “That was fun!”

In those few minutes, I’m able to capture little moments that feel true — the kind of photos that instantly remind you who they are right now.

Just in time for holiday cards

If you’ve been meaning to send holiday cards this year, this makes it easy.

Every gallery purchase from the Nov 11 event includes a free holiday card design using your favorite images. Simple, personal, and done. Wondering about what to wear? Bring your santa hats, favorite pajamas, party dresses, and Chanukkah shirts- anything goes!

For Cleveland-area families

Sessions take place in Lyndhurst, at Acacia Metroparks shelterhouse, convenient for families around Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, Beachwood, Solon, and Mayfield.

Spots are limited — once they’re gone, they’re gone.
